Welcome

Lund University GIS Centre, Sweden, offers a Master's program in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) *. The program:

  • will lead to a Degree of Master in Geographical Information Systems from Lund University;
  • is fully Internet-based - distance learning - except presentation and defence of the final thesis;
  • is flexible in terms of study tempo and learning methods;
  • will take 2 years to complete for a full-time student;
  • is free of charge for all students (no tuition fees)

To take part in the program, you need:

  • a minimum of a Bachelor's degree (at least 3 years university studies, in any discipline)
  • access to a computer (at least 10 hours a week) - see section "Technical Prerequisite"
  • any sort of Internet connection (at least 1 hour a week)

* Note: The program is equivalent to a degree of Master in Sweden. It is the responsibility of international students to verify if the program is also recognized as a degree of Master in their country of origin.

The program is a collaboration with the E-GIS project of the European Commission's Leonardo da Vinci program.
